Terms of Service

Last updated: March 18, 2026

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of sidecal (“the Service”), operated by Reluctant Founder Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17067041) with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

sidecal is a scheduling platform that connects to your Google and Microsoft calendar accounts to show unified availability and allow others to book appointments with you. We provide booking links, calendar synchronisation, and related scheduling tools.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including any connected OAuth accounts
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
  • One person may not maintain more than one free trial account. We use technical measures to detect and prevent trial abuse.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through automated means (bots, scrapers) beyond normal API usage
  • Impersonate another person or entity when creating booking links
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam

4. Subscriptions & Billing

  • sidecal offers a 14-day free trial. After the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are displayed on our billing page.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Existing subscriptions are honoured at their current rate until the end of the billing period.

5. Calendar Data

  • You grant us permission to access your connected calendar accounts solely for the purpose of checking availability and creating bookings
  • We access only the minimum data required: free/busy information, event titles, and calendar metadata. We do not read event descriptions, attendees, or attachments beyond what is necessary for scheduling.
  • You may disconnect any calendar account at any time from your dashboard. Disconnecting stops all data access for that account.
  • See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

6. Bookers

People who book appointments through sidecal (“bookers”) are not required to create an account. By submitting a booking, bookers agree that their name, email address, and responses to any custom questions will be shared with the host and stored as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability & Uptime

  • We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, provider outages, or unforeseen issues may cause temporary downtime.
  • Availability shown on booking links depends on real-time data from Google and Microsoft. We are not responsible for incorrect availability caused by delays or errors in third-party calendar APIs.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws
  • You retain ownership of all content you create (booking links, custom questions, branding assets)
  • You grant us a limited licence to display your branding and content as necessary to operate the Service (e.g. showing your logo on booking pages)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, sidecal is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • Missed appointments due to incorrect availability data
  • Lost revenue or business opportunities resulting from Service downtime
  • Actions taken by third parties (Google, Microsoft, Stripe) that affect the Service
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. This permanently deletes all your data.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
